Whats the best way to make elf and fairy ears for custom Barbies and other dolls?
I have been rerooting dolls for a few years and have begun to repaint them as well. To anyone who is experienced or has knowledge of the subject, what’s the best way to make the elven/fae ears on fantasy dolls?
If you want to make them out of polymer clay (or perhaps an air-dry clay), then just glue or otherwise attach them to your Barbie, you could just sculpt them separately then press the raw ear to the Barbie head to make sure the bottom would make a good fit, then bake and attach later (or you could actually model them right on the Barbie… some kinds of plastic will be fogged or eventually eaten into weeks later by raw polymer clay, but if you were worried about that, just lay a sheet of plastic wrap over the head first).
