How do I find someone who makes dolls?
Searching for “doll maker” both on google and yellow pages yields no results. The closest I’ve found are doll making supply stores. I’d really like to find someone who makes dolls–any kind of dolls–in the south eastern United States. Help?
There are doll makers on Etsy.
You could try going to a Quilt Shop and find out from workers if they know of anyone who does custom doll work.
Another source is try going to a doll show in your area (link below). Big ones are held once or twice a year and a few have some little ones also. These are mostly hobby people who belong to the UFDC (United Federation of Doll Collectors) and they have many talents.
Lastly, try going to a craft show, especially Christmas shows because there you will find all sorts of crafty people, and people who make dolls or doll related items. You could ask around there for names/numbers. Don’t forget to bring a notebook.
